NHTSA REAFFIRMS MODEL S 5-STAR SAFETY RATING IN ALL CATEGORIES FOR MODEL YEAR 2014

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reaffirmed the 5-star safety rating of the Tesla Model S overall and in all subcategories for Model Year 2014, confirming the highest safety rating in America. While Tesla is awaiting feedback from NHTSA regarding their investigation of recent fire incidents, the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA), recently concluded its review of the incidents, finding no manufacturer-related defects or need for further action.

TESLA REPAYS DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY LOAN NINE YEARS EARLY

WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2013

PALO ALTO, Calif.– Tesla Motors announced that it has paid off the entire loan awarded to the company by the Department of Energy in 2010. In addition to payments made in 2012 and Q1 2013, today’s wire of almost half a billion dollars ($451.8M) repays the full loan facility with interest. Following this payment, Tesla will be the only American car company to have fully repaid the government.

ECOstrive Is Still Here

ECOstrive – Seems like it’s been forever, since I’ve updated this site. A lot has happened in the last couple of years. A123 Systems went bankrupt, even though they had a great battery technology. IBM began the Battery 500 program to create batteries for electric cars with a 500 mile range. Tesla went public and has been trading at nearly double their IPO price. And, the alarmist have been caught lying and manipulating data, without repercussions  changed the theory several times and made fortunes off of “Green” investments in non-viable technologies supported by the governments.

Tesla Files S-1 Registration Statement for Initial Public Offering

PALO ALTO, CA. – Tesla Motors, Inc. today announced that it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock. Tesla Motors designs, manufactures and sells high-performance fully electric vehicles and advanced electric vehicle powertrain components. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined.

Goldman, Sachs & Co., Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank Securities are acting as the joint book-running managers for the offering.

Tesla hires Fiat strategist to head European operations

 WINDSOR, UK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Tesla Motors has hired former Fiat executive Cristiano Carlutti to lead the electric vehicle manufacturer’s fast-growing European operations.

Carlutti, who began this week as Tesla’s vice president of European sales and operations, has a unique background encompassing sales, marketing, branding and public relations. He has lead mission-critical divisions at Fiat, served as CEO of an Italian start-up and served on the organizing committee of the XX Winter Olympic Games. Design of the Tesla Model S

This seven passenger vehicle is unique because it is built on a flat platform. That is, batteries between the front wheels and motor between the rear.
